RecyLoop Shines at RePlast with PAGÇEV Recycling Award for CoraLoop

RecyLoop Sustainable Packaging A.Ş. has received an award at the PAGÇEV Recycling Awards presented during the RePlast Eurasia 2026 Fair held in Istanbul.

The award was granted for RecyLoop’s CoraLoop technology, a PHA-based biopolymer coating solution developed as an alternative to conventional plastic coatings used in fibre-based packaging products such as paper cups and food packaging.

CoraLoop focuses on improving the end-of-life performance of fibre-based packaging while maintaining industrial processability and scalability, which remains one of the most critical challenges in the transition towards biopolymer-based packaging materials. The development of industrially scalable PHA-based coating systems is considered a key step in expanding the use of biodegradable polymers in high-volume packaging applications.

Marine biodegradability is increasingly recognised as a critical environmental parameter for packaging materials, particularly for single-use food packaging products that have a high probability of environmental leakage. In this context, PHA-based materials are gaining global attention due to their ability to biodegrade in marine environments, soil, and industrial composting conditions.

This field has also been receiving increasing regulatory and research support, particularly within the European Union, where biodegradable and bio-based polymers are being studied and supported under various circular economy and sustainable materials initiatives aimed at reducing persistent plastic waste and improving material recovery systems.

The PAGÇEV Recycling Awards recognise innovative technologies and projects that contribute to recycling, circular economy, and sustainable material development in the plastics and packaging industry. The award presented to RecyLoop highlights the growing importance of biopolymer technologies and scalable sustainable coating solutions in the future of fibre-based packaging.

RePlast Eurasia is one of the region’s leading exhibitions focused on plastics recycling technologies, circular economy solutions, and sustainable materials, bringing together industry stakeholders, technology providers, and manufacturers from across the recycling and packaging sectors.

This recognition further strengthens RecyLoop’s commitment to developing industrially scalable sustainable coating technologies and advancing circular economy solutions for fibre-based packaging.
