Recyloop Recognized as a Best Practice Example at PAGEV’s 9th International Plastic Packaging Congress
The Green Bridge: A Sustainable Packaging Line from Türkiye and the East to Europe
Hosted by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and organized by PAGEV, the 9th International Plastic Packaging Congress was held this year under the theme “Coding the Future of Packaging: Global Rules, Competition, and the Sustainability Vision Toward 2026.”
The congress addressed Türkiye’s transformation in the plastic packaging industry and the new competitive landscape shaped by the European Green Deal.
Opening remarks were delivered by PAGEV President Yavuz Eroğlu and Vice President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Mehmet Develioğlu.
Recyloop: The Brand Bridging East and West Through Sustainability
At the congress, Recyloop Sustainable Packaging Inc. stood out as one of the most notable examples strengthening Türkiye’s role in the regional supply chain.
Recyloop offers a Türkiye-based response to the rapidly growing sustainable packaging market in Europe and the United States. The company brought to Türkiye the latest PMC cup production lines and know-how from U.S. retail giant Party City, combining them with the HydroLoop water-based coating technology co-developed with its partners in Belgium and China.
This synergy created a unique production model defined by the motto: “The innovation of the East, the technology of the West, and the manufacturing power of Türkiye.”
By enabling the production of plastic-free, fully recyclable paper cups, Recyloop was showcased at the congress as a best practice example in Türkiye’s green transition journey.
A Model Crowned with International Success
This pioneering project also gained international recognition, winning first place in the “Waste Management & Zero Waste” category at the Sustainable Business Awards 2025.
Recyloop’s HydroLoop technology offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional PE and PLA coatings, while remaining fully compatible with existing paper recycling systems.
Within the scope of the congress, Recyloop’s achievement was highlighted as a tangible global example of Türkiye’s potential in green manufacturing.
