RecyLoop Named Finalist at BUEC Boğaziçi Sustainability Awards 2025

RecyLoop Sustainable Packaging A.Ş. was named a finalist at the BUEC Boğaziçi Sustainability Awards, held on 17 December 2025, recognizing solutions that deliver measurable environmental impact in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Following RecyLoop’s earlier recognition at the Sustainable Business Awards with its HydroLoop project, the Boğaziçi University organizing team directly contacted RecyLoop and invited the company to participate in the BUEC Sustainability Awards process. This invitation reflects the growing academic and institutional interest in RecyLoop’s technology-driven approach to sustainable packaging.

The awards convened a strong field of sustainability-focused initiatives, particularly those addressing waste management and environmental pressure on marine ecosystems. In this context, RecyLoop’s work with PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoates) attracted attention for its potential to reduce long-term environmental impact at the material level. PHA is a next-generation biopolymer that is bio-based, marine-biodegradable, and compatible with circular economy principles, offering a transformative alternative to conventional fossil-based plastics.

“Turning Sustainability into Technology That Delivers Results”

Commenting on the achievement, RecyLoop Board Member Ömer Erhan Eroğlu stated:

“With HydroLoop, we demonstrated what is technically achievable in sustainable packaging. With CoraLoop, our objective is to minimize the environmental footprint of packaging even under the most extreme scenarios, particularly through the use of marine-biodegradable biomaterials such as PHA. Being named a finalist at the Boğaziçi Sustainability Awards is a meaningful indication that this direction is the right one.”

RecyLoop’s finalist position at the BUEC Boğaziçi Sustainability Awards represents another milestone in the company’s mission to transform sustainability from a claim into measurable, scalable technological outcomes, while strengthening collaboration with academic institutions and sustainability-focused ecosystems.
