Who we are

The name RecyLoop was born out of our vision to close the loop in packaging. In our early discussions with international peers on sustainability during 2023, in the United States, the idea of combining Recycle and Loop came naturally; a simple but powerful way to describe a circular system where materials are never wasted, only renewed. When we heard it, it immediately resonated with our mission. It wasn’t just a name; it was the essence of what we set out to achieve.

How the idea took flight

The spark came from the market itself. Over the past few years, sustainability leaders inside major brands began asking for packaging that finally solves the single-use problem instead of rebranding it. Drawing on the expertise and experience of RecyLoop’s founders—who have long served renowned clients such as Caffè Nero, Nestlé, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Espresso Lab—we recognized the urgency of the challenge and the scale of the opportunity.

Major airlines were simultaneously looking for sustainable alternatives to replace plastics in their inflight serviceware as part of their broader push to reduce single-use items and lighten their environmental footprint. Soon after, category leaders such as McDonald’s and Starbucks independently sought us out as they evaluated pilots for higher-recyclability and lower-impact hot and cold cups.

What we heard was consistent: the market did not need another standard paper cup producer. It needed a better paper cup—one designed with recyclability in mind.

So we built RecyLoop around that premise. Instead of following the crowded path of existing suppliers, we focused on the critical barrier: coatings. Traditional cups use plastic or chemical layers that prevent recyclability. Our work centers on developing aqueous and bio-based coatings that maintain all the required performance standards—heat resistance, durability, printability—while allowing the fiber to be recovered in existing recycling systems.

What makes us different

  • Coating innovation first. We prioritize aqueous and advanced bio-based barriers to replace conventional plastics while preserving cup performance and print fidelity.
  • Designed for recovery. Materials and inks are chosen to keep fibers valuable in recycling streams.
  • Built for scale. From day one we engineered capacity headroom so large brands can move quickly when pilots succeed.

The Party City chapter

To match our R&D with serious production muscle, we acquired and relocated high-speed, advanced-automation paper cup lines from Party City (USA)—a long-time heavyweight in the disposable cups space. These lines, previously used in Party City’s Newburgh, NY operations, were transferred to our facility, along with decades of process know-how embedded in the machinery and workflows.

Today, those lines anchor one of the region’s most capable cup platforms, featuring fully automatic handling, and resource-efficient utilities that help minimize water and energy use. In total, seven premium cup lines from the U.S. augment our installed base (now 25 lines), enabling an initial step-change in output and paving the way toward multi-billion-unit annual volumes as we ramp.

Blooming, like a sakura in spring

With the Party City upgrade in place and our coatings roadmap advancing, RecyLoop is positioned to help global brands move beyond pilots into mainstream deployment—from airline cabins to high-throughput QSRs and specialty coffee chains. Our promise is simple: cups that perform beautifully, protect food and people, and keep fibre in the loop.
